Turmeric Bohemian baby blanket, toddler, single bed quilt, throw rug to fit across a single bed.
This piece is small and in A Grade condition. It can be cut to make 2 x baby crib quilts.

The Tumeric baby Cotton Kantha Quilt is around eighty years old and beautifully handstitched with delicate little straight stitching.
A grade - Kantha home styling throws around 8 layers of voile cotton, making it a heavy grade.

It is made from upcycled sari cotton from the 1940s. One throw blanket takes many days to complete.
They are made by stitching around three to five layers ( and this one is double the thickness) of sari cotton into one piece.
This practice started as a way to reuse old saris to sit on, wrap the baby in, or stay warm.
Nowadays, they are treasured hand-stitched items, and each one is unique.
It features white tones and is in good condition with beautiful, even stitching.
Because of the cloth's age, small patches or holes may appear through one or more layers.
Some also have evident marks or stains, which are part of the craft and are not considered a fault.
Some Vintage Kantha Quilts are collector's items and are becoming very valuable.
We love them as they reuse existing fabric rather than create new textiles.
