Delicate hand wash only textile that is in a frail condition.
Over time, the outer layers of cotton have started to break down, giving this blanket a fantastic texture and super-soft feel.
Our rare, delicate pieces are popular with artists, movie and set costume directors, earthy mums, and many others.

This is a vintage Kantha quilt made from upcycled sari cotton from the 1960s. It takes many days to complete just one throw blanket.
They are made by stitching around 4 to 5 layers of sari cotton into one piece.
This practice started as a way to reuse old saris to sit on, wrap the baby in, or stay warm.
Nowadays, they are treasured hand-stitched items, and each one is unique.

Because of the age of the cloth, you may find small patches or holes through one layer.

Some Vintage Kantha Quilts are collector's items and are becoming very valuable.
We love them as they reuse existing fabric rather than create new textiles.
